Tim Milne from the much loved defunked/refunked Artomatic has been quietly scheming a rather nice direct mail concept called Matter. Described as "a new and unique idea in communications that brings companies and people together around real, physical stuff–things you can hold in your hands, keep in your drawer, or give to your friends. It's a new way for companies to introduce themselves by giving you something you might like."
I was tipped off about it a while ago by the all seeing Mr Gower [who has a good interview with the man here], but it is now ready for action with the first boxes being sent out this weekend. So, if you're not already signed up, do it today!

Now that i like, what a top box concept.
got mine is the post this morning, full of exciting goodies. two kinds of soap, some playdoh and a tasty bit of muesil...
yup, got mine too ... but to be honest, not really that impressed. i totally love the idea and the packaging was great, but i thought the contents were a little weak. i guess my expectations were quite high and to get a virgin atlantic calendar, evo magazine top trumps and some other forgetable stuff didn't really cut it. the wii wristband and sony bravia playdoh were cool, but i guess i'm still questioning the real ecovalues of all this branded/direct mail merchandise.
i look forward to the next one as i really want it to work.
yeah you're probably right, i'm just a sucker for a nice parcel. what i found most disappointing was that most of the ideas and design were essentially just pastiche, which is a little bit weak. be interesting to see what they send out next, based on the feedback they get though.
what you need Will is a nice veggie box from Riverford Farm. Full of perfectly designed goods, and you send the box back.
already there dude with able and cole, but wouldn't it be nice to get a protein box of goodies that were supahype, ecofriendly *and* good for you?!
