Oh My Lord.
UK readers maybe familiar with Anfield Rap that wondrous Liverpool football club song.
Well, here is the American version from the Los Angeles Rams. The lyrics are amazing!
I'm quick off the line as I can be, cause I don't want dick running over me
I learned long ago how to ram it just right, so I could ram it all day and ram it all night.
The writers must be on the floor laughing their arses off! In fact they probably meet up one a year just to get their tear ducts flowing.

I love signage. I love inappropriate signage even more. This was in Waterstones...

Nike seems to be confused at the moment. They have just produced some shoes (model: Nike Trash Talk) from shoe waste material which has been recycled, that's good right? Well yes, it is. They are exploring other ways to work and be less wasteful with their materials. But last week I was in Nike Town (a fairly unpleasant experience) and I found myself in the customer services department, which is on the third floor. This is what I saw:

Innocent, those smooth talking smoothie making folk are looking for a scribe. Dan, taller than you think he's gonna be, Germain mentions what he's after on his blog:
...we need someone who can come and write lots of classic innocent stuff.
That means that this person will be writing everything from ads to pack
copy to books to blog posts to everything else that we have to write.
So there you go, if you live in London or Hawaii (and fancy the commute) this is the sound of opportunity knocking. More details on the innocent job section.
I see this a bit like, you are Luke to his (Dan's) Obi Wan. Sadly, I think I'm more of a Lando. Plus of course my literacy levels are around that of an 8 year old Bolivian kid so I'm out.

I'm delighted to report that Dan requested all the items I didn't want from the Matter Box so I posted them on.
This is what the internet and social networking should be able to do more of. Connecting the right people to the right people.

Rick Nelson gets an outing from 1970 performing Garden Party. This was long after he'd quit his rock and roll ways and was well into his country rock days. There are some great lyrics on this little gem and an interesting little story attached too.

Just because I felt there wasn't enough content on this blog *cough* I thought I'd add another feature. I'm going to do monthly interviews with people who are doing interesting work in the design, illustration and graphics world. I'm picking those because I'm interested in them, simple as that. There's a panel for this feature on the right hand side column of the blog. Just look for the logo (above). The first one is London illustrator Miles Donovan.

When I was young, Computer stuff was called Information Technology, we had classes in it and it was pretty boring. The guy teaching the classes had the social skills of a service elevator and the people who were good at the class didn't really talk to anyone outside of their group. They pretty much spoke their own language. How things have changed.
I have just come back from a meeting with Gi Fernando who runs Techlightenment. They make social media apps. They made the Bob Dylan and Socialistics Facebook apps for example. Needless to say they are pretty sharp cookies in the digital social behaviours game. It was one of those good chats where both parties got really excited about the future, you know, flying cars and robotic maids. We both got out more than we came with and I expect we'll do it again soon.

This is the poster for the Beautiful Losers documentary coming out soon. It was designed by Keith Scharwath and the typeface was by Geoff McFetridge. The film is premiering at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, in March.
If you haven't heard of Beautiful Losers it's a book and exhibition that was created a couple of years ago featuring the artists mentioned in the poster. You can read a whole chunk more about it here if your intrigue has been tweaked.

It was just a matter of time really wasn't it. Chickipedia is upon us. With this extremely useful resource you can check out the lowdown on all of your favourite honies. And of course with the joy of databases you can find other girls that have the same stats as the girl of your dreams.
I'm guessing this site is mainly used by 12 year old boys.

If anyone knows of any way I can be 8 years old again I'd like to hear about it. This looks awesome.

I've been loving Yanko design for some time. Whenever I see a design on a website that makes me go, what the... usually it's taken from Yanko. It's a design aggregation website where people can submit designs. They get a lot of hits.
Some seem to be very much conceptual where as some seem to be available to buy or at least license. Much of the stuff on there is some crazy future shtick but I like that. Really impracticable sometimes or not even useful but again it's still nice to see.
If ideas are your currency you need to be feeding your creative battery from any angle you can think of. It's often the thing you never see coming that inspires you to think in a another direction or to give you that trigger you're looking for to solve a problem.
As people always say in brainstorming groups (yawn) defer judgment, there are no bad ideas.
So, here's some that caught my eye:
A programmable keyboard that does a little more than usual.
